Singer and songwriter Maya, was born and raised in a railroad suburb of Salvador, Bahia. She has a remarkable voice and is an artist who walks through all aspects of Black music, mixing her references to R&B, Trap, Pop and Pagotrap. She sings about her experiences as a Black woman contextualized within urban and diasporic poetics.

Maya is one of the revelations of Sofar Sounds 2019 and since then, she has accumulated notoriety in the Bahian music scene, participating in performances for Mídia Ninja and music festivals such as AfroBaphoLab, Latinidades, Novíssimo Labs, SoteroPagotrap, O Pente - a festa, in addition to other live shows. She is an ambassador for Always Brasil, a tampon brand.
